Branding

What a brand strategy workshop actually covers

Half a day, the right people in the room and four questions. Here is what happens and what you get at the end.

A brand strategy workshop sounds vague until you have been in one. It is a working session with a short list of decisions to make, and a written result at the end.

Who should be there

The people who decide, and the people who talk to customers every day. Usually that means a founder or director, someone from sales and someone from delivery. More than six people and it slows down.

The four questions

  • Who are the customers you want more of?
  • What problem do you solve for them, in their words?
  • Why should they pick you over the alternatives, including doing nothing?
  • What can you prove?

What you get afterwards

A short write-up of the answers, in plain language, that you can hand to a designer, a copywriter or a new hire. It is the yardstick every later decision is measured against.
